Iran Condemns Ongoing Atrocities of Israeli Regime in Palestine
WANA (Apr 15) – Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned the intensifying attacks by the Israeli regime on various parts of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. He denounced the brutal massacre of innocent civilians, including women and children.
Referring to numerous recent and documented reports by international organizations — including the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry, Médecins Sans Frontières, FAO, UNICEF, and UNRWA — Baghaei stated:
“The Israeli regime’s actions, such as the killing of Palestinians, destruction of vital infrastructure, and targeting of healthcare facilities, are crimes of the gravest kind.”
He added: “These also include blocking humanitarian aid, cutting off essential supplies, imposing a full blockade on Gaza, and depriving the population of water, electricity, and fuel. According to Baghaei, these acts clearly amount to genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. He stressed that Israeli officials and decision-makers must be held accountable and prosecuted for these atrocities.”
Baghaei also pointed to the recent statements by the UN Secretary-General, who described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as catastrophic. He emphasized that the unarmed population — especially women and children — are being exposed daily to intense bombardment, widespread hunger, disease, and forced displacement.
He continued: “As noted by the UNRWA Commissioner-General, these actions represent a systematic effort to destroy the Palestinian people. Baghaei asserted that this is being carried out with the intent of ethnic cleansing and extermination.”
He further stated that the Israeli regime is deliberately and systematically targeting aid workers and journalists in order to silence the voice of Gaza’s oppressed people.
However, the bravery of Palestinian journalists, along with the growing involvement of international media and independent activists in the global campaign “Stop the Genocide,” has helped expose these crimes. This wave of awareness is now reflected in widespread public demonstrations around the world condemning the Israeli regime’s actions.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson praised the institutions, media outlets, and activists who are working to raise awareness and support the oppressed people of Gaza and Palestine.
He called on all governments, nations, international organizations, and human rights institutions — especially the United Nations Security Council — to take immediate and decisive action. He urged them to stop the ongoing genocide and mass killings in Gaza and the West Bank and to ensure that those responsible are prosecuted and punished.
